Working as a Deputy Sheriff for 11 years, I have served the public by fighting crimes on all fronts within Los Angeles County. Solving a residential burglary is often times the result of a sharp detective’s follow-up investigation, versus catching the suspect in the act. Ultimately, prevention is typically preferred.

On June 19, 2006, while off-duty, I returned home to find my own home burglarized; My brand new LCD Plasma Television had been stolen, bracket and all torn from the living room wall.

Burglaries happen, but it was odd when I walked out into the yard and saw my plasma television face down on the grass beside my fence. Yet my fence had been destroyed too. I thought to myself, “Why would someone break out?” Within seconds, it all made sense.

It appears that my German Shepherd, Orat, saw the suspects and surprised them. In their desperate attempt to escape from the wrath of a German Shepherd, they immediately lost interest in the television, dropped it, and broke out by pushing their way through my newly erected fence. Exactly, my boy handled his business.

Thank you for providing me with the highest caliber of German Shepherd available for personal protection. Through the years, you and your staff have been very supportive and diligent in your efforts to properly train my dog while displaying a true commitment to outstanding service and professionalism.

Thanks again,

Scott Butler
Deputy Sheriff
